Drinking Alone is Only Sad if You Are...

I, as well as many of you out there, work fucked up hours sometimes that don't sync up with my friends' fucked up schedule. So what is a girl to do when she has to grab an afterwork drink alone? Read a fucking book! Yeah, thats right. It is the best time to catch up on your reading while not looking lame by being on your phone the whole time.

That Communion Wine Put Me in the Mood for a Drink!

Sunday worship, whether you believe in sky wizards, Cthulhu, or whatever, is a great opportunity to center your mind and take solice in your community. That shit is great, but what about after? I, often times, am ready for a drink after getting a taste of that communion wine. Usually getting together with friends for Mimosas is suffice, but sometimes I want to treat myself to something chill and rad.

First Sundays at The Royale on Kingshighway off of Juniata is a perfect opportunity to treat yo self to some awesome Gospel spinning by none other than St. Louis' nicest party animal, Matt Harnish( of Bunnygrunt and Matt Harnish's Pink Guitar), and enjoying some tasty snackage and choice ass bevies. I just had the Hummus and The French Astronaut cocktail and was in the chill zone for a great afternoon. That shit was super legit and I suggest if you have a sunday free, that you check it out! Check for the event listing cuz I believe the Maestro of Mad Musical Mastication is going on a trip soon.... FYI.

Being Bored is for Boring People.

Living in St. Louis means the party never stops and there is no excuse for dull moments. Here are things you can do to maximize your STL experience

1. Joining a gym is a great time filler when you are partied out and want something to do without drinking involved.

2. There are plenty of shows going on around town and some of them are even free. Check out wrongdivision.com for show listings or just ask Facebook.

3. Enjoy some art at one of our amazing art museums. If you check the event calendars on their websites, there are usually some great free events and activities.

4. Its hot outside, go check out some penguins or spend time photographing you fave animal at the zoo.

5. Sunday is a good day to check out the swap meet at Lemp Brewery.

6. Park at Friar Tucks on Watson and take Grant's Trail to Grant's farm. Feed some baby goats, grab you beer samples, and head back to Friar Tuck's to purchase beer for home.

7. Hike at Mastadon state park, drive a couple of exits down to Festus for thrift shopping and a Jumbo Burger at Gordon's Stoplight Diner.

8. Take the Riverview hike at Castlewood and hop in the river at the end.

9. Take a trip to Grafton, eat at the Grafton Winery/brewhouse. Hike at Perre Marquette, head back by ferry and stop for a drink at the ferry stop before heading across into St. Charles to head home.
